CARROLLTON, Ga. — Lakeview Academy overcame a sluggish start to knock off Class 4A LaGrange, 51-44, in the Trojan Showcase at Carrollton High School.
It was the first loss of the season for the Grangers (7-1). Lakeview improved to 8-2 with the victory and has won two straight overall.
LaGrange led 9-7 after the opening quarter but Lakew used an 18-6 second quarter to grab the lead. LaGrange pulled with 36-28 heading into the fourth quarter but the Lions were able to main its lead in the final period.
Mekhi Barber paced Lakeview with 15 points. Tayden Ware added 10 points for the Lions.
Lakeview next will play host to Southwest Atlanta Christian on Thursday at 5 p.m.
