RABBITTOWN, Ga. — The East Hall boys basketball team is trending upward.
The Vikings, who started the 2023-22 season 1-7, have flipped the script this season in every way possible. They are 6-1 right now, scoring 87 more points than last year while giving up 67 less.
It's a transformation that head coach Joe Dix is excited about. He's also enthusiastic about Chris Alford.
Alford has also transformed his game, averaging 16.5 points per game. He's also become a 3-point threat. In all of last season, he swished 11. So for this season, he's nailed over 30 -- 11 of those came last week. Alford hit seven 3's in the win over East Forsyth last week and led the Vikings with 24 points. He added four more 3-pointers in the win over North Hall last Tuesday and hit 14 points.
It's part of why the Vikings are starting to turn heads around the area.
