Boys basketball: EHall, NHall take big 8-4A wins; Lakeview, Union get wins

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Chris Alford continued his hot shooting, hitting five 3-pointers in the first quarter to lead East Hall to a big 75-64 win over East Forsyth on Friday night on the road.

Alford finished with seven 3-pointers for the game and 24 points to pace the Vikings (6-1, 2-0 Region 8-4A North). Jamarcus Harrison and Chasen Jones each finished with 14 points for East Hall. Freshman Brayden Langston added 13 points for East Hall.

Louis Koulouvaris and Tyler Lesch led East Forsyth (2-6, 1-1 Region 8-4A North) with 16 points apiece.


NORTH HALL 80,
CHESTATEE 67

The Trojans erased a slim third quarter deficit with a huge fourth quarter to rally for a Region 8-4A win on the road.

It had been a back-and-forth game until with North Hall leading 37-33 at the half. Chestatee had rallied for a 58-55 lead behind a big third quarter from Josh Bull, who poured 13 of his 20 points in the period.

But North Hall’s Matt Ray answered that with 11 of his game-high 33 in the fourth quarter to spark the comeback win. Ray had 21 in the second half and Luke Sanders had 12 of his 15 points in the second half for the Trojans.

Andrew Bales added 13 points and Micah Jimmerson had 12 for North hall (3-4, 1-1 Region 8-4A North).

Colton Wilbanks paced Chestatee (3-5, 1-1 Region 8-4A North) with 25 points. Jordan Harris added 14 for the War Eagles.


UNION COUNTY 87,
TOWNS COUNTY 51

The Panthers exploded for 32 points in the second quarter en route to a stunning win on the road on Friday.

The two teams earlier in the season played to a close 57-46 Union County win in Blairsville.

Union County (6-2) led just 20-13 after the first quarter as it looked like it was going to be another tight affair. But Hudson Henry, Hayden Hughes, and Jude Ellis combined to drain five 3-pointers and 25 points in the second period to push the Panthers to a 52-22 halftime lead.

Henry and Hughes each finished with 24 points and a combined 10 3-pointers, six from Hughes, for Union County. Ellis had 16 points for the Panthers.

Zane Floyd had 16 points to pace Towns County (5-2). Tanner Cunningham added 10 points and Connor Chastain 8 for the Indians.


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 64
ATHENS CHRISTIAN 57 

Despite getting 24 points from Mekhi Barber, the Lions had to hold on down the stretch for the road win.

It was the fourth straight victory for the Lions.

Lakeview (4-1) was paced by Barber’s 24 points with Justyce Sadler and Harper adding 12 points each. Keelan Harper and JR Thompson had 8 points apiece.

The Lions next will play host to Rabun County on Saturday.
