Georgia House adopts resolution condemning Hamas terrorism

The Georgia House of Representatives adopted a resolution on Monday condemning Hamas terrorism as the Israel-Hamas war continues.

House Resolution 4EX was sponsored by Brent Cox (R-Dawsonville). Representatives Esther Panitch (D-Sandy Springs), John Carson (R-Marietta), Chuck Efstration (R-Auburn), Lauren McDonald (R-Cumming) and Mitchell Horner (R-Ringgold) were co-sponsors of the resolution.

“There’s an enemy that comes to kill, still and destroy, and, in this situation, that enemy happens to be Hamas,” Cox said. “The goal of Hamas is to eradicate the State of Israel, the Jewish people, the United States of America and all that support these causes. I was proud to sponsor this resolution to condemn Hamas, and I am grateful to the other co-sponsors for helping ensure that the Georgia House of Representatives adopted this important resolution. We stand with Israel and the Jewish people.”

"The heinous murders committed by Hamas are a disgusting display of hatred and evil and are offensive to every decent human being," the resolution reads.

The full resolution can be viewed here.

The adoption comes about two months after the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks at the Tribe of Nova music festival in Israel. Thousands of people in both Israel and Palestine have been killed or injured as a result of the ongoing conflict.
