Gainesville man enters guilty plea on child molestation, sexual battery charges

A Gainesville man entered a guilty plea Monday in Hall County Superior Court on child molestation and sexual battery charges stemming from his 2020 arrest.

John David Honeycutt, 33, was initially arrested on Oct. 29, 2020, on two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of child molestation. Additional charges were later added.

Honeycutt reportedly sexually assaulted multiple female victims prior to his arrest in 2020.

Hall County Court documents show he entered a guilty plea Monday on the following charges: aggravated child molestation, child molestation (three counts), aggravated sexual battery (two counts), criminal attempt to commit a felony and contributing to the delinquency of a minor (two counts).

He was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Jason Deal to 25 years to serve followed by life on probation. Additionally, he must pay a $5000 fine.
