MT. AIRY, Ga. — East Hall used a quick start to take the lead en route to a 75-66 win over BEST Academy on Saturday at the North Georgia Elite Showcase at Habersham Central High School.

The Vikings (2-0) opened the game with a 21-11 run and never looked back. They led 42-27 at halftime and took a 62-45 lead into the fourth quarter.

Chasen Jones paced the Vikings with 21 points. Jamarcus Harrison added 19, Chris Alford 15, and Brayden Langston and Caden Crocker each chipped in with 8 points for East Hall.

It's been a quick resurgence for the Vikings, who did not get their second win last season until the middle of January.

Jeremiah Ware poured in 25 points to lead the Falcons to a win over the Indians on Saturday in the 1st round of the East Jackson Thanksgiving Tournament.

It was the season-opener for Lumpkin County (0-1).

The Falcons (1-1) trailed most of the first half as the Indians led 14-8 after the first quarter and took a 28-26 lead into the halftime.

But Branch began to battle back. The Falcons caught Lumpkin County at 36 heading into the fourth quarter and then outscored the Indians 13-8 in the final period to get the win.

Jack Huey add 14 points for Flowery Branch.

Landon Pierce led Lumpkin County with 11 points.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday in the tournament.
