Police looking for suspect after vehicle break-ins at Lawrenceville hospital

By Caleb Hutchins Assistant News Director

Police in Lawrenceville are asking the public to help them identify and find a suspect in a series of vehicle break-ins in a parking lot outside of Northside Hospital Thursday morning.

A social media post from the Lawrenceville Police Department said employees at the hospital first began reporting the break-ins around 4:00 a.m. Thursday. Officers came to the scene and found multiple vehicles with broken windows.

The parking lot is an employee-only lot that is access-controlled.

Police officials say some of the vehicles that were broken into had been left unlocked by their owners. Investigators say they have identified the vehicle used by the perpetrators, and they believe the suspects also recently broke into vehicles at local Walmart and Averitt Express stores in the city.

Authorities have released surveillance images of the suspect and vehicle in question. Anyone who recognized the person or the vehicle in the images is asked to contact Lawrenceville Police detectives by calling 770-670-5172 or by emailing to [email protected].

Anonymous tips can also be submitted online to Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta.
