Hall County officials are nearing the completion of the Unified Development Code and an update to the Comprehensive Plan, and are inviting the public for a final round of input.
The final time citizens can provide their input on the future Comprehensive Plan and UDC for the county will be Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lake Lanier Olympic Park during the annual Chicken Festival, according to Media Specialist Brian Stewart.
At that time, Hall County staff will be on hand, along with consultants from TSW, to update citizens on proposed regulations governing things like zoning, subdivisions and stormwater.
Hall County staff will reportedly be located just outside the gates of the Chicken Festival, meaning those interested in providing feedback will not have to pay to enter the festival to give their comments, Stewart said Thursday.
“The most important voice in this process is the voice of Hall County’s citizens and stakeholders,” Planning and Development Director Randi Doveton said. “We encourage everyone to make their voice heard as we continue this critically important process.”
The UDC combines zoning, subdivision, environmental and other such regulations into a single code that helps determine what kind of development occurs within unincorporated Hall County. Additionally, the UDC helps determine where developments can be built, how dense they are, how they look, what kinds of building materials can be used and how the developments fit in with the Comprehensive Plan.
The Comprehensive Plan outlines the roadmap for future development in Hall County, Stewart said.
