Authorities searching for suspect in East Hall County armed robbery

By Austin Eller News Director

The Hall County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened Thursday evening at a convenience store in the East Hall County area.

According to a press release from the agency, deputies responded at about 8 p.m. to the Don Mangum Grocery at 3752 Harmony Church Road.

An initial investigation determined the male suspect entered the store, approached the counter, produced a handgun and demanded money. He ran out of the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.

A K9 team responded and tracked the suspect's scent to a nearby road, where the track ended. Investigators believe a getaway vehicle was waiting there for the robber.

The suspect is described as six feet tall. He was dressed in all black and wore a black mask during the crime.

Anyone who witnessed the man get into a vehicle and leave the area or who has additional information about the incident should contact Investigator Matthews at (770) 533-7683 or by email at [email protected].

The agency said they do not believe this robbery is connected to the two armed robberies that occurred in December on Cleveland Highway or Old Cornelia Highway. They also said they do not have any definitive information to indicate that those two robberies are tied together.
