According to a press release from the Georgia State Patrol, William Timothy Myers, 34, was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on J Warren Road just after midnight.

Myers was allegedly fleeing from a marked Habersham County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle with its emergency equipment activated at the time of the incident.

Myers was negotiating a curve and traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway. The Toyota traveled up an embankment, striking several trees on its passenger side. The front of the vehicle eventually struck a tree and overturned on its driver's side in a ditch.
