GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Gainesville tallied 416 yards of total offense on their way to a 4-0 start Friday night.
The Red Elephants scored pretty much at will in a 43-20 win over Clarke Central at City Park.
Baxter Wright tallied up five touchdown passes on the night, starting with a 40-yard throw to Tre Reece. He would follow that up with back-to-back connections with Sky Nibblett for 16 and 20 yards, respectively.
Wright then found Reece again for 12 yards before his final touchdown throw to Niam Cheeks for 75 yards. Kylan Hall rounded out the scoring offensively for the Red Elephants with a 65-yard scamper.
Wright finished 15-for-24 for 315 yards and a handful of touchdowns. Gainesville also racked up 101 yards of rushing offense on the night, led by Hall's 65 yards on the touchdown run.
Gainesville will open up region play next week as they travel to Apalachee.
