Multiple apartments in Duluth affected by a fire

Multiple families in a Duluth apartment complex had to find new housing after a fire affected 14 different apartment units.

Emergency crews were called to the apartment complex Thursday at 2:10 p.m. off Satellite Boulevard NW in Duluth. Bystanders reported seeing a fire near the playground with large flames. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had spread to a nearby apartment building.

In a press release, Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services said that crews evaluated the scene. “The apartment building's power meter sustained significant damage from the fire. Due to safety concerns, power was disconnected to the building.” A short time later, the fire was under control.

The apartment management helped to find housing for all of those in the 14 apartment units affected.

The cause of the fire was undetermined and remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
