Authorities investigating online threat against Dawson County High School

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office received information on August 24, from an out-of-state source, reporting a social media threat toward Dawson County High School students.

 

The threat was posted to a social media site to communicate with others anonymously according to Dawson County officials.

 

The Sheriff’s Office is working together with school officials have identified the listed students, including the reported suspect. 

 

Investigation into the report has not revealed the validity of the threat.  Students named in the post, including their parents, are being notified and interviewed as part of the investigation.

 

The investigation is still ongoing. 

 

The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with any knowledge or information pertaining to this incident (or any others), to immediately report to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.
