John Lunsford, who recently qualified to seek the Clarkesville Post 2 City Council seat, has withdrawn from that race.
In a letter submitted Wednesday to the Habersham County Elections Office, Lunsford said he believes the two candidates are well qualified and have the best interest of Clarkesville in mind.
The Special Election will be held November 8, with Rick Wood and Brad Coppedge seeking to fill the seat vacated by Roxie Barron in March.
