Jackson EMC Foundation issues latest grant

The Jackson EMC Foundation Board issued its latest round of grants to organizations at its July meeting, totaling to $124,000.
 
Childkind, Inc. was one of the recipients of the grant and received $5,000.
 
Childkind, Inc. serves all Jackson EMC communities and has a foster family recruitment program for children with mental health challenges.
 
Jackson EMC Foundation issues charitable grants through its Operation Round Up program. About 206,281 of its members participate in the program to round up monthly electric bills to the next dollar.
 
Since 2005, Operation Round Up has allowed Jackson EMC to fund 1,752 grants to organizations and 4,170 grants to individuals. This has allowed $18 million to benefit local communities.
 
Any individual or charitable organization that is in one of the 10 counties served by Jackson EMC can apply for a foundation grant by completing an application. Applicants do not need to be Jackson EMC members to apply.
 
Jackson EMC serves Clarke, Banks, Barrow, Franklin, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison and Oglethorpe counties.
