One man arrested after a drug bust at a home in Winder

A Winder man has been arrested on multiple drug charges. On Thursday, July 21, a search warrant was executed at a home at 856 Than Skinner Rd. in Winder. The search warrant was the result of a series of undercover operations. 

At the home, investigators found suspected methamphetamine, approximately 100 grams of suspected marijuana, Xanax, oxycodone pills and suspected ecstasy pills. 

Matthew Mark Evans, age 39, was arrested and charged with:

  • Four counts of Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Three counts of Sale of Methamphetamine
  • One count of Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to distribute
  • One count of Felony Possession of Marijuana
  • One count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic
  • One count of Possession of a Schedule IV Narcotic

The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and Swat Team were involved in the search and arrest.
