City of Lawrenceville to add slip ramp near Northside Hospital Gwinnett

A major roadway project is set to start this month in the City of Lawrenceville.

The city, the Georgia Department of Transportation and Northside Hospital Gwinnett are combining their efforts to add a slip ramp on Ga. 316 at Ga. 120.

The separate exit lane from eastbound Ga. 316 at Ga. 120 will allow direct access to Northside Hospital Gwinnett.

The project has a price tag of $2,067,737, and 0.41 miles of the roadway will be graded and paved. It is projected to be complete in 2023 by late spring.

CHA Consulting, Inc. will design the strip ramp, while Ohmshive Construction, LLC will contract the project and Atlas will handle the ramp’s construction.

This project will help reduce traffic on roads around the hospital.

“We are grateful for our continued partnership with Northside Hospital Gwinnett and that they were receptive to our recommendation for the addition of a slip ramp concept to their hospital campus renovation master plan,” Lawrenceville City Manager Chuck Warbington said in a press release. “Considering overall traffic flow for the city and preventing additional congestion on Pike Street, adding a separate exit lane directly to the hospital is the best option.”
