A Banks County man, Todd Glassburn, 33, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Child Exploitation and Computer Crime (CEAAC) Unit, on Thursday, July 14. He has been charged with five counts of child sex crimes.
Glassburn is being held at the Bank's County Jail. The GBI CEACC Unit began investigating Glassburn's online activity after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), regarding the online possession and distribution of images depicting child sexual abuse material. The GBI was assisted in this case by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a press release from the GBI, this investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force to identify those involved in the child pornography trade. The ICAC Program, created by the U.S. Department of Justice, was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child sexual abuse material, and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims.
