Hall County authorities release sketches of victim, person of interest in suspected homicide

By Austin Eller News Director

The Hall County Sheriff's Office has asked the public for help identifying a victim and person of interest after a woman was found dead off Paradise Point Road in Flowery Branch on June 20.

The agency held a press conference Thursday afternoon where they revealed sketches of the victim and person of interest created by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Lt. Don Scalia said the victim is believed to be a woman, possibly of mixed race, in her late 20s to mid-30s, with dark brown hair and around 5'2" to 5'4" inches tall. Scalia said they determined this information based on the GBI sketch and preliminary information from the autopsy.

She also had pink fingernails, a photo of which can be viewed in the above photo gallery.

"It looks to be some kind of manicured type nail, and hopefully if someone sees that they can possibly identify where that work might have been done," Scalia said.

Forensic testing is still underway to determine the cause of the victim's death and the time of death. However, Scalia said they were treating the case as a suspected homicide. A member of the public found the victim's body and reported it to authorities. Scalia did not release any information about the state of the body when it was found by authorities.

The person of interest in the case is a white male, possibly in his late 20s to late 30s, between 5'8" and 5'11" tall with a stocky build. The person of interest was wearing a dark short-sleeved t-shirt, dark pants and a light-colored ball cap when he was caught on video. The artist's sketch of the man, as well as the video where he was spotted, can be viewed above.

Scalia said any relationship between the victim and the person of interest is unknown.

Authorities have also released a photo of a vehicle of interest, which appears to be a dark grey late-model SUV.

Anyone who might recognize the victim, the person of interest or the vehicle are asked to contact the Hall County Sheriff's Office. Tips can be emailed to [email protected] or given by phone at 770-503-3232. Any tips can remain anonymous.
