NE Georgia hospital recognized for outstanding patient experience

Four Georgia medical centers are among the top 15% of hospitals in the nation for patient experience, according to Healthgrades.

Northside Hospital Forsyth in Cumming received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for the third year in a row.

"Despite COVID-19's impact on overall patient experience, some things remain unchanged; good, clear communication at all levels remains core to a good patient experience," Healthgrades said.

Northside Hospital Cherokee in Canton, Adventhealth Murrary in Chatsworth and Emory University Hospital in Atlanta were also recognized.

According to Healthgrades, the award recognizes the facilities that are "top in the nation for overall patient experience based on nine measures related to doctor and nurse communication, hospital cleanliness and noise levels, and medication and post-discharge care instructions."

Healthgrades Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brad Bowman said 399 hospitals around the country received the awards.

"We applaud all recipients of the Healthgrades 2022 Outstanding Patient Experience Award for putting patient experience at the front and center within their organizations," Dr. Bownman said on Healthgrades.com. "We commend these hospitals for their ongoing commitment in prioritizing an exceptional patient experience, while ensuring the health and safety of their patients."

For the third year in a row, the facility in Cumming was also named as one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement.

Healthgrades also gave the hospital the Surgical Care Excellence Award.
