Four people have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday evening arson of a Habersham County mobile home.

The Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire in a Tuesday press release said the fire happened on June 8 just before 10 p.m. It destroyed the 30-year-old, 900-square-foot mobile home.

“The home was being used as a rental property at the time of the fire,” said Commissioner John F. King. “After examining the fire scene and conducting witness interviews, this fire was ruled to be an act of arson and warrants were taken out against four individuals. According to our investigation, fireworks were used to set the inside of the residence on fire from the outside.”

The following four suspects were arrested as a result of the investigation:

  • Kayley Crocker, 21, of Clarkesville, for Arson in the First Degree and Aggravated Assault
  • Maliki Crocker, 18, of Clarkesville, for Arson in the First Degree and Aggravated Assault
  • Courtney Crocker, 20, of Clarkesville, for Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement and Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault
  • Timothy Chase Goetchius, 19, of Clarkesville, for Obstructing or Hindering Law Enforcement and Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault

The state's Fire Investigations Unit worked with the Habersham County Sheriff's Office and Habersham County Emergency Services on the case.
