A Habersham County man is in jail after authorities found thousands of child pornography images in his emails. The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher Lee Webb, 40, was arrested after authorities found more than 8,000 pornographic images in multiple email accounts.
The images were found on multiple email accounts that Webb admitted to creating through Yahoo to trade online. He reportedly admitted to destroying the laptop when he thought he was being watched.
On Tuesday, deputies executed a search warrant on Webb’s home. They seized digital storage devices and a laptop. The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led the investigation and made the arrest.
The investigation is ongoing as forensic investigators examine the seized property.
The Sheriff’s Office says for the moment Webb is charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a child, but they say they expect additional charges will come as the investigation continues.
