Hall County authorities arrest missing jail inmate

A Hall County Jail inmate who escaped custody on Monday was arrested by authorities Wednesday afternoon.
 
Hall County Sheriff's Office public information officer B.J. Williams Jerry Lamar Thomas, 31, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. at a location on Candler Road. Thomas was charged with escape and was returned to the Hall County Jail.
 
Two of Thomas' acquaintances were also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension. Their names were not released.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a Hall County Jail inmate who did not return to the jail following a job interview.
 
Jerry Lamar Thomas, 31 of Gainesville, left the Hall County Jail Monday at 5:45 p.m. for a job interview at Pilgrim's Pride Corporation. Jail officials received a call from Pilgrim’s Pride at 6:20 p.m., who said Thomas never appeared for the interview. Shortly after, the jail received an alert that Thomas removed his ankle monitor.
 
Thomas was arrested on May 9, 2022 for drug possession charges. He was court-ordered to participate in the work-release program.
 
Thomas is white, weighs approximately 185 pounds and is 6 feet, 3 inches tall. He has close-cut, strawberry-blonde hair and has numerous tattoos visible on his face, neck and arms.
