David Smith scores Bud Lunsford Memorial win at Toccoa

David Smith came home from Georgia’s Toccoa Raceway some $4,900 richer after winning Saturday night’s Bud Lunsford Memorial.

Smith topped a stout 26-car field for the win in the 49 lap event held in honor of the late Georgia Racing Hall of Famer. Lunsford, of Gainesville, Georgia, won the first and last race of his illustrious career at the historic 3/8-mile clay speedway.

Smith held off Blake Craft to take home top honors in the caution filled feature, with Jake Jackson following in third, Kenny Collins in fourth, and Kevin Stephens in fifth.

Dale Timms, David McCoy, Daniel Wilson, John Howard, and Michael Smith rounded out the top 10.

In other action, Kenny Collins scored the victory in the Limited Late Model feature, with David McCoy second, Mark Wilbanks third, David Conley fourth, and Frankie Beard fifth.

Royce Bray took the win in the Modified Street feature. Sterling Helm finished in second, with Chad Puckett in third, Billy Buffington in fourth, and Brant Carey in fifth.

Bill Pulliam was the winner in the Pro Trucks feature, with Terry Calhoun in second, Ray Cook in third, Ryan Key in fourth, and Lisa Calhoun in fifth.

Hunter Atkinson was first across the finish line to win the 602 Charger feature. Dylan Bartlett followed in second, with Jerry Buice in third, Justin Smith in fourth, and Marcus Rider in fifth.

Cameron Collett beat out Douglas Stewart for the Stock 8 feature, with David Stone, Terry Calhoun, and Tim Sexton rounding out the top five.

Harley Holden won the Stock 4 feature, with Randy Boshears second, Matt Gerrin third, Marcus Hughes fourth, and Phil Wood fifth.
