GAINESVILLE — North Hall took grabbed the lead for good in the second inning en route to a 7-3 series-clinching win over Appling County in the second round of the Class 3A playoffs at Lynn Cottrell Field on Thursday.
The Trojans will travel to Harlem on Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Class 3A playoffs.
After falling behind 2-1 in the second inning, Tate Brooks singled in a run and Ajays Jones hit an RBI groundout to give the Trojans the lead for good.
Jaret Bales highlighted the win with a solo homer in the third inning.
Landon Lee was credited with the victory, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out three in the complete-game performance.
The Trojans outhit Appling County 10-3, Brooks was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Luke Erickson was 2-for-4.
