The city of Gainesville is set to host an open house for its visitor center Tuesday afternoon.
City officials said the event is meant to bring community attention to the new facility, which opened in September of 2020, and to showcase attractions around the city.
Gainesville Convention and Visitors Bureau representative Deb Gravitt said in a release that the bureau will host the event, which will be from 1:00 to 5:00.
"During this time, we hope to give them the opportunity to see our new space, meet the CVB staff and visit with participating vendors," Gravitt said. "We’re confident this will not only be an opportunity to showcase Gainesville as a whole, but the wonderful services and experiences provided by attractions to our community and our guests."
The Gainesville Visitor Center is on the first floor of the Gainesville Administration Building on Henry Ward Way near the intersection of Jesse Jewel Parkway and E.E. Butler Parkway. Gravitt said staff from local attractions such as Elachee Nature Science Center, Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, Lake Lanier Olympic Park and the Beulah Rucker Museum and Event Center among others have been invited to participate in the open house.
Gravitt said anyone with questions about the event can email her or call 770-531-6598.
