Lawrenceville man arrested for sexual battery

Gwinnett County Police arrested a Lawrenceville man Thursday who is accused of sexual battery.

Xiemohn Cornish, 22, is accused of assaulting two different women.

According to a press release from Gwinnett Police Department, Cornish assaulted a Duluth woman, 59, on Monday. Cornish allegedly followed the woman onto her patio, where he grabbed her buttocks.

Witnesses described Cornish as a Black male around 6 feet and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He wore an orange hoodie and jeans at the time of the assault.

On Tuesday Cornish assaulted another woman, 57, from Lawrenceville. He grabbed her buttocks and breasts, but the woman was able to fight him off. Cornish also wore an orange hoodie and jeans during the assault.

Gwinnett County police were patrolling the Sweetwater Road area and found a man who fit Cornish’s description. Cornish gave officers a false name and date of birth. However, officers determined that Cornish was the suspect in the two assaults and arrested him.

Cornish has been charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer
