COMMERCE — Both the Commerce boys and the girls tennis teams advanced to the Sweet 16 on Wednesday in the first round of the Class A Public playoffs.
The Lady Tigers hammered Bowdon 4-0 while the boys got by Gordon Lee 3-1.
They weren’t the only ones to advance.
In Class 3A, the Cherokee Bluff girls whipped Sandy Creek, 3-0, while in Class 2A, the Banks County boys rolled past Washington, 5-0, to advance to the Sweet 16.
In Class 6A, the Pope girls knocked out Habersham Central, 3-0.
Also in Class 3A, the Dawson County girls were blanked 3-0 by defending state champion Westminster.
