Crash on Ga. 365 injures multiple people

Five people were injured after a two-vehicle crash on Ga. 365 Saturday afternoon.
 
Post 7 Toccoa and Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the accident at the Crane Mill Road intersection.
 
According to a police report, a 2004 white Chevrolet van was traveling on Ga. 365 southbound at the Crane Mill Road intersection. A male from Alto, 55, drove a 2007 gray Honda Civic and was traveling westbound. He attempted to cross Ga. 365 from the median onto Crane Mill Road.
 
The Honda Civic failed to yield to the Chevrolet van, who had the right-of-way. The Chevrolet  van struck the Honda Civic’s front bumper on the passenger side. The Honda Civic rested in the northbound lanes after the impact, while the Chevrolet van was overturned on the west shoulder.
 
Habersham Emergency Medical Services transported the Honda Civic driver, the Chevrolet van driver and their three passengers to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. 
 
The severity of their injuries is unknown at this time. The case remains open.
