DAHLONEGA — Class 3A No. 1 North Hall completed a sweep of Lumpkin County on Thursday with a dominating 13-1 win in five innings on the road.
It was the sixth straight win for the Trojans, who also kept pace with Dawson County (11-4, 6-0 Region 7-3A) atop the region standings. The one run for the Indians (5-9, 0-6 Region 7-3A) was the first scored off North hall pitching in region play over the first two weeks and snapped a streak of five straight shutout wins.
North Hall used a huge 10-run third inning as
North Hall Trojans Varsity defeated Lumpkin County Indians Varsity 13-1 on Thursday thanks to ten runs in the third inning. North Hall Trojans Varsity big bats were led by Hunter Brooks, Nathan Vermeer, Jon Jon Read, Luke Erickson, Ajay Jones, and Jaret Bales all driving in runs.
Jones and Bales each finished with two hits and two RBI for North Hall. Erickson drove in three for the game and Brooks had two RBI as well.
Landon Lee started and surrendered one run on one hit over 2 1/3 innings, striking out two. Landon Davis and Eli Reece went 2 2/3 combined in relief allowing no hits and walking two.
Brady Rice took the loss for Lumpkin County giving up five runs on three hits over two innings.
Scooter Ligon had Lumpkin County’s lone hit.
