Christopher Hulsey named Flowery Branch police chief

The Flowery Branch Police Department named Christopher Hulsey as the chief of police on March 15. He has served as the city's interim police chief since April 2021.

Hulsey is an 18-year law enforcement veteran and has an extensive career of serving the City of Flowery Branch. He was hired as a patrol officer in 2006 and worked his way through several positions, including his former role as assistant chief since March 2015.

He’s also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

Hulsey has placed a large emphasis on building community trust. According to a press release from the city, he will continue to prioritize safety and strengthen community relations through effective communication and advocacy.

“I am truly honored to be named as Chief of Police for the Flowery Branch Police Department,” Hulsey said. “I want to thank God for not only this opportunity, but for placing a strong support system in my life. I am humbled and blessed to have been surrounded by gifted leaders, peers, and colleagues who have helped me in my law enforcement career and shaped the person who I am today. I would also like to acknowledge the love and support I have received from my family to help me along the way. I believe I have some of the best officers that a Chief could ever ask for. I am grateful to the City of Flowery Branch for this opportunity.”
