Gainesville man arrested, charged with rape

A Gainesville man was arrested Wednesday and charged with the rape of three Hall County women, including a juvenile.

Miguel Angel Lopez, 21, allegedly raped the three women at various Hall County locations between July 2019 and October 2020. According to a press statement from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, two of the women are adults, while a third victim is a girl under the age of 16.

The two crimes against the adult victims took place at separate times, one at a location in Gainesville and another at a Flowery Branch location. Lopez has been charged with felony rape in each of those cases.

Lopez is accused of assaulting the juvenile victim multiple times between October 2019 and December 2019 in more than one Hall County location. For these crimes, Lopez has been charged with four counts of felony child molestation, one count each of felony aggravated child molestation, felony sodomy, and felony rape.

Lopez was booked into the Hall County Jail, where he remains without bond as of this report.
