The suspect in a double homicide in Forsyth County was arrested in Roswell on Friday. Juan-Escalante Alarcron was apprehended shortly after 6 p.m. by Forsyth County SWAT and detectives with the assistance of Roswell PD and North Fulton SWAT. The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says the investigation is fluid and remains ongoing.
Yesterday, authorities released the victims’ names. At the scene, deputies found 21-old Giovanni Cruz and 35-year-old Ivan Cordero dead. A 17-year-old was also shot and had injuries but is expected to fully recover.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the two men killed were cousins. A family member also said the men did not know the suspect, 34-year-old Juan Escalante-Alarcon of Norcross.
Federal marshals were already searching for Escalante-Alarcon before Thursday’s event. On Feb. 11, he was wanted for a home invasion at the same home on Tidwell Circle. A warrant was out for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault and cruelty to children in connection with that incident.
Orig. Story: The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in an early morning double homicide. On Thursday, at approximately 5 a.m. deputies responded to 9-1-1 calls about a shooting at a home on 300 Tidwell Circle.
According to a release from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived to discover three people shot. Two adult males were dead at the scene. One juvenile had also been shot but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The victims’ identities have not been released.
The suspect in the shooting has been identified Juan Escalante-Alarcon, 34 of Norcross. He has multiple active warrants to include Home Invasion, Aggravated Assault, Cruelty to Children in the 1st Degree. Escalante-Alarcon is considered armed and dangerous.
