JEFFERSON — No. 6 Jefferson rallied from a late deficit to edge East Hall 3-2 on Wednesday in Region 8-4A action at Memorial Stadium.
The Dragons (9-2-1, 4-0 Region 8-4A) struck first midway through the first half to take a 1-0 lead. But the Vikings (4-6-1, 1-1 Region 8-4A) tied the match on a Justin Torres goal in the 22’ off an assist from Jonathan Torres. East Hall took a 2-1 lead in the waning minute of the first half on a goal from Ranferi Lara-Chavez.
It stayed that way until midway through the second half when evened the match at 2. With just six minutes left East Hall appeared to get the go-ahead goal but it was called back due to offsides. The Dragons would get the game-winner with just three minutes left.
East Hall next will travel to Union County on Friday. Jefferson travels to Class 7A third-ranked Peachtree Ridge on Friday.
