After a three-month drug investigation, two Jefferson men were arrested on drug and weapon charges. Last Wednesday, a search warrant at a home on Grace Drive produced drugs and firearms, one of which was stolen out of Jackson County.
According to a press release from the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), authorities found approximately 20 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, worth $15,000. They also found three firearms, one of which was stolen out of Jackson County.
Jonathan “Yella” Stephens, 31 of Arcade, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Javon Stephens, 38 of Arcade, was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen firearm.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
The investigation was the result of multiple departments, including the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Banks County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrenceville Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration Atlanta Division and ARDEO.
