Girls soccer: Lakeview moves into 1st in 6-A Private; Bluff takes over 1st in 7-3A

GAINESVILLE — Lakeview Academy moved into first place in Region 6-A Private with a 9-0 shellacking of Mt Bethel Christian on Friday at home.

The Lady Lions (5-1, 2-0 Region 6-A Private) got hat tricks from both McKenna Filson and Millie Filson for their third straight win. Sarah Nivens scored twice and Annie Nivens had one goal for Lakeview.

Sarah Nivens, Millie Filson, Annie Nivens, McKenna Filson, Pavani Reddy, and Lauren Scott all had assists for Lakeview.

The Lady Lions defense also recorded its second consecutive shutout.

Lakeview next will travel to Pinecrest Academy on Monday in another region battle.

Amelia Dovie scored five times and added an assist to lead the Lady Bears to a Region 7-3A win in Ellijah on Friday.

Ellie Sutulovich, Genesis Gamez, and Tyndall Brix each scored one goal. Dovie, Sutulovich, Kaitlin Cook, Anna Gessner, Sophie Recinella, Addison Dovie, and Paige Wheat all had one assist for Cherokee Bluff.

With their third straight win, the Lady Bears (7-3, 2-0 Region 7-3A) moved into first place all alone in the region standings. They next will travel to Forsyth Central on Monday in a non-region contest.
