Multiple arrests in Toccoa drug and gang investigation

After a lengthy investigation, multiple people have been arrested on drug and gang charges in Toccoa.

According to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), on Thurs., Feb. 24, police executed search warrants at three different homes, arresting 5 people.

The search warrants were executed at 104 Hughes St., 299 Emily St., and 180 Whisenant St. where the following people were arrested and charged:

  • Dometrious Sanchez Smith, age 32, is charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, and three counts under the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Prevention Act.
  • Roger Laquerrious Neal, age 32, is charged with one count distribution of methamphetamine.
  • Anthony L. Harrison, age 39, is charged with one count (misdemeanor) possession of marijuana.
  • Quentin Shrod Reed, age 32, is charged with possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
  • Delane Mayfield, age 54, is charged with possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana (misdemeanor).

More charges are expected to come out of the investigation, which was coordinated by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, Toccoa Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Drug Enforcement Administration, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and ARDEO.
