Atlanta Braves World Series trophy to make stop at UNG

By Austin Eller News Director

The public can view the World Series trophy won by the Atlanta Braves as part of the 2021 season when it makes a stop at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega on Friday.

The World Series trophy will be at Haines and Carolyn Hill Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 25. The trophy stop coincides with UNG's baseball game against Catawba College, which has a 4 p.m. first pitch.

"Just to be able to stand around the trophy and take a picture with it I think resonates with a lot of Nighthawk fans," Lee Glen, UNG associate athletic director for external operations, said. "There's a lot of people up here in the Dahlonega area that are North Georgia fans, but there's a larger contingent of people that are Atlanta Braves fans."

Interested Braves fans can view the trophy by purchasing a ticket to the baseball game for $5. Tickets can be purchased here. UNG students, faculty and staff can go to the event for free.

The trophy stop is part of 151 tour stops, in honor of 151 years of the Atlanta Braves.
