Boys soccer: East Hall wins 3rd straight behind Lara brace; No. 1 Knights stay unbeaten

RABBITTOWN — East Hall ran its win streak to three with a tough 3-2 victory over Cherokee Bluff on Friday at East Hall Stadium.

However, the Bears (2-4-1) struck first off a free kick that deflected off of the wall and found the back of the net. East Hall tied it up off of a Ranferi Lara goal in the 35th minute and took took the lead two minutes later Lara scored again on a penalty kick.

The Vikings' David Loza scored two minutes into the second half to push th lead to 3-1. But Bluff converted a PK midway through the second half to cut the lead to 3-2 but could not get the equalizer against the East Hall defense.

East Hall (3-4-1) continues its tough non-region slate playing host to Class 5A No. 1 Johnson on Tuesday. Cherokee Bluff, which had its two-match win streak snapped, plays host to Pinecrest Academy on Tuesday as well.

The Class 5A No. 1-ranked Knights improved to 6-0-1 with their fifth shutout of the season on Friday.

Daniel Trujillo, Kevin Castillo, David Arteaga, and Jorge Sandoval.each scored one goal for Johnson

Trujillo added a pair of assists and Castillo and Sandoval each had one assist as well.
