GAINESVILLE — Lakeview Academy came into their showdown with Cherokee Bluff averaging nine goals a game on the season. But the Lady Bears had Avery Fowler.
Fowler allowed just one goal and just missed out on her third consecutive shutout in goal to lead Cherokee Bluff to a 7-1 win over the Lady Lions on Tuesday night
Meanwhile, the Lady Bears also got back their dynamic playmaker Kaitlin Cook for the first match this season and she responded with a hat trick and one assist to lead the offense. Anna Gessner added two goals and three assists, Alyssa Stringer had a goal and two 2 assists, and Genesis Gamez had a goal and an assist for Bluff (3-2)
Cherokee Bluff will travel to East Hall on Friday.
Lakeview Academy (2-1) next will play host to Stephens County on Thursday.
