DAWSON COUNTY 58,
CHEROKEE BLUFF 55

The Lady Tigers rallied from an early fourth-quarter deficit to grab a big Region 7-3A win at home on Tuesday.

The win, coupled with a North Hall loss to East Forsyth, moved Dawson County (14-9, 7-6 Region 7-3A) into a fourth-place tie with North Hall (16-8, 7-6 Region 7-3A).

It was a back-and-forth affair the entire way. The Lady Tigers led 12-11 after the first quarter and 27-26 at halftime. But Bluff (9-14, 4-9 Region 7-3A) behind a big second half from Timber Gaither, rallied to take a 43-42 lead into the final period.

Abby Slaton, however, scored 10 of her 15 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Dawson County comeback. Kirkland Porter has 12 points, all on 3-pointers, and Morgan Chester added 10 points for the Lady Tigers.

Taliah Gaither paced Bluff with 15 points but was held to just 2 points in the second half. Timber Gaither finished with 12 points, all in the second half, for the Lady Bears.

LANIER CHRISTIAN 36,
KILLIAN HILL CHRISTIAN 27

The Lady Lightning picked up another region win on Tuesday, using a stellar defensive effort.

But Ashely Avery’s offense was the star of the game. The senior recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and became LCA’s all-time leading scorer and all-time leading rebounder in the process.

LCA (10-13, 4-5 GAPPS) set up the offense with its defense. Freshman Ellie Roberts added 8 points, and 7th grader Adelyn Gough and junior Camille Hoffman both had 7 points for the Lady Lightning. Camille Hoffman also pulled down 12 boards for LCA.

LCA next will play host to Peachtree Academy on Friday.

LAKEVIEW 63,
MT. BETHEL 35

Joelle Snyder scored 29 points and Dynesty Putnam had 15 to lead the Lady Lions (8-11, 3-3 Region 6A Private) past Mt. Bethel on the road Tuesday.

Lakeview jumped out to a 29-7 lead after the first and hit cruise control for the rest of the game en route to the blowout win.

Ashlyn Henderson chipped in six points and pulled eight rebounds. Snyder added six steals.

SOUTH FORSYTH 67,
GAINESVILLE 44

The Lady Red Elephants (8-13, 1-9 Region 6-7A) rallied in the third quarter to cut the game to nine points but ran out of gas in the loss to the Lady War Eagles (18-6, 8-3 Region 6-7A).

After a lackluster first-half performance, Gainesville opened the third quarter on a 13-0 run, led by Keidra Young, KeKe Jones. The two combined for 11 of Gainesville's 19 quarter points. Jones also nailed a 3-pointer with 4:23 left to get within nine points, 39-30.

South Forsyth would break the drought on a Sharon Tolliver bucket, followed by a basket from Olivia Brabazon with less than three minutes to go in the third quarter and a 43-30 advantage. The run was part of an 8-2 spurt that gave the Lady War Eagles a 46-32 lead with under two minutes left.

Gainesville, however, rallied back to cut the game to 10 points, 48-38, by the end of the third.

The fourth quarter was a different story for the Gainesville offense. South Forsyth held the Lady Red Elephants to six points while outpacing them 19-6 to seal the win.

Ava McGlockton, who had two key baskets in the fourth, led South Forsyth with 18 points. She was one of five in double figures. Maggie Thompson scored 12, and Clara Morris, Amelia Brown and Brabazon all had 10 each.

Caloni Young led Gainesville with 12 points. Keidra Young had 10, and Jones hit for nine points.

EAST FORSYTH 72,
WHITE COUNTY 60

The Lady Broncos find themselves in a tie for the second spot in Region 7-3A with the win over White County at home on Tuesday.

Going in, East Forsyth (17-6, 9-4 Region 7-3A) trailed the Lady Warriors (13-9, 9-4 Region 7-3A) by one game and with the win on Tuesday, the two foes are now tied for No. 2. On top of that upset, North Hall fell to Gilmer and Dawson County beat Cherokee Bluff to make things a bit more complicated. North Hall and Dawson County are technically tied via record, but the Lady Trojans hold the tiebreaker via the season sweep of Dawson.

What does all this mean for East Forsyth and White County? If East Forsyth knocks off North Hall on Friday, and White County beats No. 1 Lumpkin County on Thursday, there will be a tie for second. If that scenario happens, and Dawson County beats West Hall Friday, the lady Tigers will take the No. 4 seed into the region tournament.

On the flip side, if East Forsyth loses to North Hall, White County loses to Lumpkin County, they'll still be tied for second, but North Hall would hold the tiebreaker over Dawson County to grab the No. 4 seed.

Anyway, Claire Beckman led the Lady Warriors with 11 points. Ella Holbrook led East Forsyth with a game-high 26 points.

JEFFERSON 55,
EAST HALL 35

Natalia Bolden scored 15 points to lead the third-ranked Lady Dragons (20-2, 10-1 Region 8-4A) past East Hall (10-11, 3-7 Region 8-4A) at home on Tuesday.

Deshona Gaither added 11 points, and Ellie Kinlaw chipped in 10.
