Rabun County wreck results in serious injuries to 3

A Rabun County man faces a half-dozen charges after a wreck late Thursday that left him and two others suffering suspected serious injuries.

James Matthew Foster, 25, of Tiger was driving a 2011 Kia Soul north on Burton Dam Road and lost control in a curve, striking a group of mailboxes and a power pole on the east shoulder of the road, the Georgia State Patrol said.

Foster’s passengers, 29-year-old Graeme McKinney Watson of Clarkesville and 25-year-old Zoe Elizabeth Brown of Rabun Gap, also suffered suspected serious injuries, while passenger Christopher Michael Clarke, 24, of Clarkesville suffered minor injuries but was not transported, GSP reported.

Foster, Watson and Brown were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

The wreck on Burton Dam Road at Limber Lost Trail happened just before midnight.

GSP said Foster faces charges of driving under the influence, serious injury by vehicle, failure to maintain lane and other traffic violations.
