A Gainesville man has been charged in regards to a December 16 armed robbery on Lee Waldrip Drive.
Jimmy Anthony Trejo-Ramirez, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery and battery in the alleged robbery and assault of an adult male victim in the 1500 block of Lee Waldrip Drive.
According to the Gainesville Police Department, the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. The victim received minor injuries after they were lured to a remote location, robbed at gunpoint and struck multiple times with a closed fist and kicks.
The suspect(s) fled the area on foot with undisclosed items from the victim. Authorities believe there was a personal connection of sorts between the parties involved. According to Lt. Kevin Holbrook, this was not a random crime and it appeared to be a setup-style crime against the victim.
The victim did not require medical attention for his injuries.
The case remains open and is still under investigation.
