The finals are set, and it's full of red and green.
The Gainesville girls knocked off Chestatee in overtime, 67-62, to advance to the championship game against North Hall, who dropped Cherokee Bluff, 65-56, at Flowery Branch on Thursday. Game time is set for 6 p.m. on Friday at Chestatee High School.
On the boy's side, Gainesville pushed past Cherokee Bluff, 68-59, to make its seventh-straight Lanierland finals. They'll get North Hall, who make the finals for the first time in a decade, with a rout of West Hall, 73-53, in the semifinals on Thursday. The boy's final tips off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Chestatee High School.
In the girl's consolation bracket, Lakeview opened Day 2 with a come-from-behind win to beat East Hall and advance to the fifth-place game against Flowery Branch, who dispatched West Hall 46-7. East Hall and West Hall will battle to stay out of next year's play-in game in the seventh-place game.
In the boy's consolation bracket, Lakeview handled defending champ, East Hall, 57-50, and will face Flowery Branch, who beat Chestatee 59-51, in the fifth-place game. East Hall and Chestatee will battle to stay out of next season's play-in game on Friday.
