Kentucky man to serve life for molesting children in Gainesville

A Kentucky man was convicted in Hall County court on Thursday for numerous child molestation charges.

Ronnie Eugene Ring, 61, was living in Gainesville when the crimes occurred. He has been extradited from Bowling Green, Ky. back to Gainesville.

According to District Attorney Lee Darragh, Ring began molesting two sisters when they were 8 and 9 years old. He molested his victims frequently over several years, and the victims are now 12 and 13 years old.

He allegedly gave the girls money when they visited his room. After molesting the girls, Ring would buy them presents.

Investigator Joey Ayes was the primary investigator in the case. According to state evidence, three other victims gave their testimonies and experienced similar occurrences with Ring.

Ring was charged with four counts of aggravated sexual battery, four counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and four counts of child molestation.

He received a life sentence with a minimum of 25 years to serve. Ring will live the rest of his life on probation.

"This case result came from an excellent investigation conducted by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and further information developed as the investigation continued," Darragh said in a statement. "I as District Attorney am grateful to the hard work done by HCSO, and for the follow up work done by members of the DA’s office, and for the fact that the young victims did not have to end up testifying in the light of the extensive evidence against Ring. Justice was accomplished."
