SEYMOURE, Tenn. - Cory Hedgecock wrapped up the 2022 Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series season with a win on Saturday in the 7th annual Leftover race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee.
It marks the second straight Leftover victory for the Loudon, Tennessee native, who pocketed a $5,000 payday for the win. It was Hedgecock’s third series win of the season and the ninth of his career.
Booger Brooks and Chase Oliver brought the field to the green flag, with Brooks taking the race lead, followed by Oliver, Hedgecock, Mack McCarter, and Russell Erwin. Hedgecock grabbed second from Oliver on lap five, and began working to close on the leader.
Hedgecock pounced to take the point as the leaders raced through heavy traffic on lap 16, while the first caution of the event waved on lap 22 when fourth place Erwin spun in turn four and make contact on the inside of the track, ending his race.
The second and final caution of the race waved on lap 25, as Chase King spun in turn four.
Hedgecock would take control again on the restart, and ran unchallenged the rest of the way to claim the win.
McCarter followed in second, with and Jed Emert in third. Brooks in fourth, and Michael Chilton in fifth.
Adam Ahl, Joe Leavell, Trever Feathers, Jason Manley, and Cameron Weaver rounded out the top ten.
