Town hall meetings announced by Gwinnett County Public Schools

By AccessWDUN staff

All five members of the Gwinnett County Board of Education will participate in an upcoming series of town hall meetings, the first of which is being held this week.

"The Board of Education believes your insight helps them make better decisions as we move forward together," read a post on the school system's Facebook page. "To this end, board members have scheduled Town Hall meetings to meet with students, families, staff, and community members to answer questions, hear concerns, and listen to understand your perspective of Gwinnett County Public Schools."

The meetings will be open to the public, and those in attendance are welcome to offer suggestions and ask questions.

None of the meetings will have a set agenda, as the sessions are intended to operate as "informal open forums."

Each meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and will have at least one school board member in attendance.

The dates, locations and featured board members are as follows:

  • Tuesday, November 29  – Meadowcreek High School (Bilingual community meeting) with Dr. Tarece Johnson
  • Wednesday, December 7 – Paul Duke STEM High School with Dr. Mary Kay Murphy
  • Tuesday, December 13 – Parkview High School  with Everton Blair, Jr. and Dr. Adrienne Simmons
  • Wednesday, December 14  – Archer High School with Karen Watkins
