McDONOUGH, Ga. — A rematch of the regular season finale is set after Lanier Christian took down Creekside Christian Friday night in the quarterfinals of the GAPPS 11-man state playoffs by a 38-10 score.
Junior Asher Acton had 75 yards rushing with a touchdown and caught a 57-yard pass from CJ Britt, one of two completions from the freshman quarterback on the night.
Sophomre Zeke Clanton rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries, adding a 26-yard touchdown catch as well.
The Lightning defense also forced turnovers, setting up the offense with short fields to work with on the way to the quarterfinal win.
Lanier Christian will now hit the road again next week to take on Cherokee Christian in a rematch of the final game of the regular season which LCA lost, 21-7.
