LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Buford led wire-to-wire Friday night to lock up the region 8-7A title with a 56-7 win over Mountain View.

The Wolves put up 466 yards of total offense in the game with Justice Haynes leading the charge, carrying it five times for 172 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Buford struck first off a Dylan Wittke 17-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter before Jalen Neal returned a blocked field goal 84 yards to double the Wolves' lead right before the end of the first quarter.

The Wolves piled it on in the second quarter as Wittke found JK Bolden for 44 yards just seconds into the second period. Two minutes later, Wittke hooked up with Devin WIlliams for a 36-yard pitch-and catch to stretch the lead to 28-0. After Mountain View scored on the ensuing possession, Buford answered with Haynes's first touchdown run of the night, sprinting 85 yards to the endzone. Justin Baker ran in from 16 yards with 1:27 to play in the second to take a 42-7 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Haynes scored on a 65-yard run in the third quarter, while Cooper Berry caught a 9-yard pass from Tristan Gabrels to get to the final score.

Buford will travel to Central Gwinnett to wrap up the regular season next week.
