DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — For the second week in a row, the Dawson County defense didn't allow a single point, beating Pickens Friday night, 27-0.
The Tigers struck early as Christian Webb picked off a Dragon pass and returned it 40 yards to take an early 6-0 lead. On the next Tiger drive, quarterback Davis Glass called his own number, punching it in from eight yards out to take a 13-0 lead with 4:25 to play in the first.
Dawson wasn't done scoring in the period as Glass found Doug Pagel for a 7-yard pitch and catch to stretch the lead to 20-0 with 1:29 to go in the quarter. The Tigers finished the scoring with 6:31 to go in the first half on a Cade Moledor 65-yard run on the first play of the drive.
From there, Pickens settled in and forced numerous Dawson County turnovers, but the Tiger defense held on two goal line stands to hold the shutout in tact.
Dawson County, now at 3-0 in Region 7-3A, will travel to Wesleyan next week for a crucial region matchup.
